What I got from New Moon

I'm not a huge Twilight fan. Nevertheless, I did drag my husband with me to see New Moon yesterday morning. Read whatever you want into that.

Here's what I got from the movie:

1. It was definitely better than Twilight, though not as funny. Yes, I realize neither was supposed to be funny.

2. I was a little surprised by the variety of people there. An older man (close to my grandfather's age) was sitting in front of us, alone. Since we went in the morning, we didn't have the screaming girls like I've heard about from several people that went to evening and midnight showings. There were several men with their wives/girlfriends/whatevers, and all seemed to groan (and I'm guessing, roll their eyes) at all the same points as my husband.

3. And third, I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with Victoria's (Rachelle Lefevre) hair! ;) I want her hair. So jealous!

4. I've never claimed a team before and never thought I would. After reading the books, at least through Eclipse, I felt like Bella should be with Edward, but would've been okay if she ended up with Jacob. But after seeing New Moon, I'm pretty firmly on Team Jacob. Sorry, but there was absolutely nothing appealing to me about Edward in that movie.

Anyone else see it? Any thoughts you'd like to add?

  1. I've read the books and lean toward Edward, but in New Moon he was a total punk. I haven't seen the movie- I'm thinking next weekend might be a better time to avoid the masses of teenage hormones.

  5. I'm on team Edward, but after seeing New Moon last night, actor wise I'm on Team Jacob--whew, that guy is purty.

  6. I dropped my teeny bopper and her two friends off and picked them up...they were all like, "He's so hot! He's so hot!" They loved the movie, too.

  7. A number of people laughed (howled?) at the screening I went to. That was the longest stretch of emo ever. I wanted to tell Bella and Edward to 'snap out of it!' Making their long faces even worse was the joy and beauty of Jacob. And next to him Edward looked like a pale fish belly. One other nagging thing: Sam's girlfriend is savagely scarred by his attack but loves him anyway. Um, what message is that?

  8. I'm like a lot of others - I was Team Edward all the way while reading the books, but that actor playing Jacob is starting to make me change my mind:)

  9. I've been hearing a lot about the movie, and I'm not a big fan either. But maybe it's worth a trip for a tub of butter and corn.

  10. I have not seen it yet. But I have heard from everyone that it is better than the first. I only made it half way through the third book and that was last year when I put it down. I never picked a team either. Now I will have to see it so I see if pick the Wolf over the Vampire.
