WIP Wednesday - I'm back...

No. I didn't actually go anywhere. Well, crazy is a possibility.

They're coming to take me away, ha ha... Ahem. Sorry.

For a while there, I was really cooking on my work in progress and got 24,000 words down over about a three week stretch. Then life got in the way, and the next scene needed some thinking before I could write it and blah, blah, blah. It's all just a bunch of lame excuses.

So, for the last four weeks I have written NOTHING new, except for a new opening for my my other novel. Until last night. Now, I didn't get a lot done, only about 700 words, but it's all new stuff and I actually wanted to write. I didn't have to force it. YEA!!

That's all I have to report. Any news for you? Making progress on your work in progress?

I know excuses are easy to find lol I have the same problem!!

But that's totally wonderful about you writing new stuff and enjoyed it! The drive will get going again and 700 isn't bad at all!

  5. Sounds like you are doing great. 700 in a night is fabulous. (and you had some heavy stuff happen recently) So give yourself a high-five and keep on moving forward.
I've been slow in recent months, but it's okay because I was considering things I need to do in rewrite, and now I'm picking up speed again. We'll get there. It's all good.

  6. I haven't moved mine forward all that much the past couple of weeks. I've been reworking the first page and fixing some middle areas. Hopefully, I can get back to the actual writing next week.

  7. 1,000 words a day is about my limit. I. Am. So. Slow. I'm working on a rewrite and decided to change the main character in some significant ways. May have to start over from scratch and salvage scenes. Holy moly.

  8. Sara: Thanks!

    Elana: Thanks!

Tricia: Thanks! Glad things are picking up for you too. :)

Lynette: Good luck! First page rewrites can really bog you down.

MC Higgins: I've so been there. When I was about half way through my completed novel, I decided to change something major. It was a good change, and it needed to happen, but such a pain. Good luck!!
