Just A Reminder...

Tere Kirkland had a great post the other day that inspired me to make this badge. What? No. It was not just another way for me to procrastinate. I don't even know what that means. ;)

I've been drafting, and I hate how crappy it all sounds. I'm constantly obsessing over every word I put down. So I thought a little reminder that it's okay not to get it perfect on the first try would help. If not, it gave me something to do this morning besides stare at a blank screen. :)

And of course, I wanted to share it with all of you. I think we can all use that reminder once in a while.

Happy Friday! Have a great holiday weekend, everyone!

  8. Sweet!

My crap is finally getting the recognition it deserves! ;)

I keep looking back over my new draft and thinking, "Okay, it's crap, but I can fix it once my first draft is done."

There's no use obsessing over a manuscript until it's finished, right?

  9. So true! We need to have permission to "turn off our inner editor" during those drafts. Good luck to you, and have a great weekend!

  12. Love the badge, I'm going to have to hang it in a place of honor where I'll see it while I'm writing. I had the same exact thought today about my WIP. And then I forced myself to get back to writing. Because I can't fix the crap until it's there!!!

  14. i'm on a second draft and so i expect my words to NOT be crap. i forget that a lot of the stuff in the second draft is actually new stuff so it's going to be bad. i can always fix it on the 3rd draft.

i think i'll put this on my blog too, maybe with a post. thanks.
