Fun Arizona Stuff

My husband found this tailless whip scorpion while he was out working. Isn't he cool? He looks small in the photos, but his body is about as long as my pinky, not including his legs. I know he looks sinister, but he eats other bugs, like cockroaches and crickets, so he's a good guy. And he's harmless to humans. Don't you wish you had one now? ;D

  3. I love spiders, but I must admit, that's one freaky looking arachnid. I'm not sure I'd be able to get too close to that one.

If I lived somewhere with cockroaches, I'd invite that spider in, though. I HATE cockroaches. *shudders* I'll take a harmless scary-looking spider over a cockroach any day.

  6. Cool! I lived in Arizona for ten years and got to love all the interesting (if bizarre) flora and fauna. I miss the cactus wrens the most. (They're not bizarre, of course.)

  7. That thing is almost big enough to ride! It reminds me of the aliens in Starship Troopers.

  8. I used to think I wanted to live in AZ but I have officially crossed it off my list!

    :-)

Number one dream move is now Colorado.

Turn him into a crispy critter then take more pictures!!! Just kidding - no one call the ASPCA on me.

  11. I don't care what he eats, I don't want him! At least he doesn't have a tail, though...that'd make him extra-special creepy.
