I intended to do a regular post today (and yesterday), but my brain is fried, and I haven’t been able to write anything since Sunday. So, I will just do a quick progress report on my WIP and try again tomorrow.
Before the brain deadness set in on Monday, I added about 7,500 words to my WIP. I think I’ll be cutting about 1000 of those, because I’ve decided to go a different direction. That change in direction is probably what’s throwing me off, but I’ll get through it. It was bound to slow down at some point.
So, how are things going for all of you? Making progress? Brains fried from the summer heat?
Great job on the progress! Also, there's a present for you on my blog ;).
ReplyDeleteYou rock, Abby!
Hey, change is good! And for some reason the sultry summer heat makes me write far too sex-fully for YA, lol. Just remember, try not to get bogged down in the editing before you get the first draft nailed down. Even if it's a big change you need to make, try to keep that forward momentum going.
ReplyDeleteAlso, Please forgive me for leaving a message here for Becca K.:
I keep trying to post to your lovely blog. But your blog doesn't like me. :< It keeps showing me the preview when I hit submit, and there's no empty bar for the word verification. Also you might have some problems with your links going to pages that don't exist. I hope you read this today or else I'll have to email you to say:
Thanks for the present! You rock! You are so very generous and sweet, and very timely. I needed this right now.
I always look forward to your new posts, and I'll always remember this one!
You can do it!
ReplyDeleteI should be finished with the rough draft of my WIP tomorrow. Am very happy. :D
I have to admit, I'm brain dead too.. heh heh. More then I want to admit. =X
ReplyDeleteThank you, Becca! You're so awesome! That totally made my day! :D
ReplyDeleteTere--Sexfully? Thanks for the laugh. I'm trying not to edit, and it's not so much that I'm changing directions, I guess. It's this stupid scene I didn't want to write because it has a lot of necessary description in it, and just thinking about it gives me a headache, but it needed to be moved up, changing the scene I already wrote, blah, blah, blah. And I will write run-on sentences if I feel like it. :P`
Danyelle--That is so cool! Congratulations! There's nothing better than writing those last words and feeling done. Well, done for a minute, anyway. :)
Tami--I'm brain dead most days. Just more so lately. :)
